Advocacy for Indigent Young African Girls

We at Parakletos African Girls Foundation believe in reaching out to the girl child at every level. We achieve this by often embarking on urban and rural empowerment programmes designed to reach, train and groom young girls. During these outreaches, they learn real skills that could help them earn a living. When they learn how to earn a living, they become self-sustaining and less dependent on (or handicapped by) the need for a guardian/parental support which is often unavailable. This is why our work is structured around advocacy support for indigent young African girls.

We promote education for every girl child because knowledge is power. There are girls who are indigent but intelligent; we sponsor their tuition fees and provide materials necessary for their education.

We also collaborate with other Non-Governmental Organizations to fight against Female Genital Mutilation through sensitization, one-on-one encounter and jingles.

During the year, we organize summer programmes, seminars and workshops to educate girl children on the uniqueness of the femininity. We teach them moral values that will boost their interpersonal relationship in society. Our foundation also coaches them on good cultural value systems which we deem necessary for the benefit of every girl child.
